Comparing the French economy by president since 1981

France ÉcoScan puts long trajectories into perspective by showing the presidential terms of François Mitterrand (1981–1995), Jacques Chirac (1995–2007), Nicolas Sarkozy (2007–2012), François Hollande (2012–2017) and Emmanuel Macron (since 2017). This reading serves to compare economic dynamics over time, without mechanically attributing each change to a single political decision.

Odometers, time series and educational charts

Odometers, dynamic counters, time series and interactive charts make orders of magnitude easier to read. The experience is designed for quickly comparing levels, changes and trend breaks.

Major studies and premium content

Each major study is published with a free preview that shows the method, the series and the thesis; the full study is bought edition by edition. No subscription, no tiers: access derives from a recorded purchase or an explicit role.

What the buyer of a study receives

  • A specific edition of a major study, identified at the time of the order: the full study, online, on the buyer’s account — every chapter, interactive chart, table, method and source.
  • The edition in its French version and, where published, in its English version — the four published studies exist in both languages, with the same data and the same calculations.
  • The edition’s PDF report, generated on request, with a watermark and a delivery identifier, under an individual-use licence.
  • Access opened as soon as payment is confirmed when the buyer requests immediate access (terms of sale, articles 4 and 5), and correction of any error in the purchased edition, with no new purchase.

The published major studies

The cards below are the studies actually published: their title, angle and preview come from the publication register, never from a description written alongside — so a study taken back to the workshop stops being announced here the day it stops being served.

The price of fire

What wildfires really cost, beyond the burned area

Prevent, fight, rebuild: what wildfires really cost France. The only public cost estimate, reproduced from its parameters; the aerial-capacity funnel; what a lost season takes with it beyond the burned area; the timeline of fleet renewal; and the threshold at which prevention spending breaks even.

What French households really have left

Why purchasing power, the money that remains and the end of the month tell different stories

Average purchasing power is rising, and yet the end of the month feels tighter. What each figure really measures, what housing changes at equal income, who bore the price shock most, and what the shocks ahead could change.
